In-demand skills and higher salary offers
According to Robert Half, 36 percent of surveyed IT hiring managers pay higher salaries for professionals with GenAI skills. 46 percent offer more than originally planned to attract in-demand talent. The evaluation also lists cybersecurity and machine learning as in-demand skills. However, a fixed personal salary premium cannot be derived from this.
Moderate growth with differences between IT roles
For 2027, the provider expects an average salary growth of 1.7 percent in the IT sector. It cites 2.2 percent for IT security architects and 2.1 percent for machine learning engineers. These role-specific forecasts are above average. They describe expected market trends and are not a commitment for existing employment contracts.
What lies behind the salary figures
The salary bands are based on an analysis process that considers supply, demand, and market conditions. This is supplemented by assessments from HR experts in Germany. The specified starting salaries vary depending on experience, region, and company. Non-salary-related details come from online surveys of employees and hiring managers; they are therefore based on a different dataset than the salary bands.
Limitations of the evidence
The overview is a provider forecast, not a guarantee for individual compensation. It allows neither a fixed salary markup for individual AI skills nor reliable conclusions regarding the next salary round within one’s own company.
